Network Specialist

The Network Specialist shall be responsible for the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement of the organization’s network infrastructure, including but not limited to:

Network Infrastructure

  • Cisco Switches
  • Cisco Routers
  • Wireless Infrastructure
  • Firewalls
  • CCTV Network Infrastructure
  • VPN Connectivity
  • Internet Connectivity
  • Network Access Control (NAC)
  • Network Monitoring Systems

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain and upgrade network infrastructure.
  • Configure VLANs, routing protocols and network segmentation.
  • Configure wireless infrastructure.
  • Configure firewall policies and VPN services.
  • Monitor network availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
  • Analyse bandwidth utilization.
  • Optimize network performance.
  • Maintain network redundancy and resiliency.
  • Monitor network logs and alerts.
  • Implement network security best practices.
  • Review firewall rules and network access permissions.
  • Implement secure remote access solutions.
  • Ensure secure internal and external data transmission.
  • Maintain network asset inventory.
  • Maintain IP Address Management (IPAM).
  • Maintain network diagrams and topology documentation.
  • Perform firmware upgrades.
  • Perform preventive maintenance.
  • Support disaster recovery planning.
  • Participate in network migration projects.
  • Coordinate with Internet Service Providers and network vendors.
  • Support end users with network-related issues.
  • Prepare technical reports and recommendations.

The candidate will also be required to perform the following along with other IT members-

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent.
  • Bahraini National.
  • Possess a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in enterprise network administration.
  • Professional networking certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CWNP, or equivalent
  • Level 2 or level 3 candidate preferred
