- Coordinating with the Organization’s IT users to understand and assess the overall
system requirements in order to establish and communicate priorities for hardware
upgrades deployments in accordance with changing business needs; - Conducting user training and updating user manuals to ensure that the end-users
acquire the knowledge and skills needed to operate the enhanced IT Infrastructure; - Deploying the defined new installations and upgrading of hardware, and identifying
faults prior to informing the respective vendors or related Organizations IT parties in
order to resolve issues in a timely manner and thus facilitate uninterrupted operation; - Installing, configuring and monitoring installed hardware as per defined procedures
and accurately identifying and reporting hardware faults to the concerned Organizations
personnel to take immediate action and resolve the problem at the earliest; - Administering server storage capacity, monitoring data collisions and system
processes and patches, and rectifying issues ensuring that they are ready and
correctly deployed; - Participating and testing the efficiency of disaster recovery procedures so that they
can be reinstated in a timely and integral manner without any loss of data in the
event of a disaster scenario; - Providing first level technical assistance facilitating smooth running of IT operations
at all times and maintaining uninterrupted flow of work; - Carrying out IT help desk work within the department procedures ensuring
consistency of service to users; - Supporting users in the use of computer equipment by the provisioning of expert
advice, training and resolution of their problems, escalating the problem to the
relevant Organization parties when the answer is not readily available; - Providing proactive and reactive support on premises and remote support for
immediately resolving any of the Organization end user problems; - Administering the database, monitoring database performance and server hardware,
performing restore, database tune up to increase efficiency and response time; - Monitoring and fine-tuning the performance of databases (including trouble
shooting); - Performing daily, weekly and monthly maintenance/back-up of the databases and
ensuring reliability/recoverability of information in the database to ensure operational
continuity; - Performing or assisting in the engineering, installation, operation, and maintenance
of core IP infrastructure and network in accord with established procedures
facilitating effective operations and smooth network availability; - Designing, implementing and executing the set plans for networks and cabling as
per the Organization’s business requirements; - Identifying and assessing user requirements so as to design/develop and effectively
deploy network solutions improving business processes in the organization; - Deploying, configuring, maintaining and monitoring the network hardware e.g.,
active network gear, switches, routers, firewall and remote access and configuration
standards for server and workstation hardware, server operating systems and
directory systems; - Designing the network connectivity (switches, cables, servers) ensuring proper
connectivity and optimizing the network bandwidth; - Monitoring the working of various aspects of network connectivity, servers and
telephone systems ensuring smooth operation and rectifying any problems or
incorrect usage; - Ensuring that comprehensive monitoring of all mission critical network infrastructure
components, including network protocol, is done according to prescribed
frequencies; - Ensuring that built-in failover capabilities are implemented in the network systems to
achieve non-stop work of critical network infrastructure components; - Ensuring incident and problem case logs and handled appropriately and their
association with network infrastructure components are reviewed diligently; - Ensuring that all available data from the network monitoring tools is used to
determine where bandwidth capacity adjustment need to be made to proactively
support business needs; - Handling network administration e.g. network address assignment, assignment of
routing protocols and routing table configuration as well as configuring of
authentication and authorization – directory services; - Keeping up to date with the latest tools and utilities;
- Performing the creation, modification and deletion of user accounts in different
systems (exclusive of the users applications); - Carrying out the defined systems administration duties using the available tools in
order to allow user access to the system through domain or exchange servers and
facilitate effective system operations in accord with established guidelines and
protocols; - Knowledge in working on the below systems:
a. VMware
b. cisco
c. AWS
d. Microsoft 365
e. azure
f. exchange
g. AD
h. Sharepoint - Implementing security devices and applications to monitor and reviewing network,
servers, and applications to ensure adherence to central information security
guidelines; - Contributing to the implementation of an effective and robust control, backup, virus
Defense and security systems to safeguard and protect all network operations and
ensure the reliability and integrity of data; - Running different types of utilities ensuring network security from viruses and
hackers in accord with established policies and procedures; - Preparing and recommending the required network related purchase orders for
timely replenishment as well as equipment and software solutions for stated needs. - Researching and recommending equipment and software solutions for stated needs.
- Recommending the appropriate vendors and work closely with selected parties
ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness in the provided solution. - Monitoring the technical support provided by vendors ensuring that they are
providing the Organization with an efficient and effective service.
